Core BioNET operations at
the global level have been supported by
the BioNET Fund since its establishment in 1996. The
Fund is managed by a Supervisory Board comprised of the Swiss
Agency for Development and Cooperation, CAB International, the Secretariat
of the Convention on Biological Diversity and, as an ex officio
member, the Director of BioNET's Secretariat. Membership of the
Board is open to new members wishing to contribute to the Fund.
The
finances and operations of each BioNET LOOP are governed by its LOOP
Coordinating Committee. Typically, each Committee comprises a
representative from each member country plus invited represenatives of
partner initiatives. One member of the Committee may be elected as
Chair. The operations of each Coordinating Committee are
supported by a regional Network Coordinating
Institute.
